Love Denied
Oh misty dreams of youthful ways,
Your healing smiles when first we met.
The happy miles we walked a while,
unmeasured joy for just those days!
We met too late in May you’d wed.
The love we felt our eyes betrayed,
but left unspelt as lips we sealed,
and said unsaid we quietly bled!
All who knew you do now bemoan,
and so grieve you for you are gone.
Our love though true yet stifled thus,
I must my dear now mourn unknown.
My tears join yours placed long ago,
on this the note you left me then.
Farewell my love and blessed be,
You sacrificed but kept your vow.

the poem was a nice read
Refreshing not having to read another sugar coated love declaration on valentines day. Beautiful
Thanks for dropping by and for the encouraging words
